1. Introduction

Renewa ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information when you use the Renewa mobile application ("App"), available worldwide on iOS and Android.

The data controller responsible for your personal data is Renewa, contactable at support@renewa.app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

Account information: Your name, email address, mobile number (optional), country and preferred currency when you create an account.

Profile information: Additional details you choose to provide, including address, city, postcode, date of birth and country of residence.

Product data: Financial product details you enter, including provider names, balances, payment amounts, renewal dates, interest rates and other product-specific information.

Calculator data: Saved calculations from the debt calculator, salary calculator, budget planner and pension forecast tools. This data syncs across your devices when you are signed in.

App preferences: Your chosen theme, currency, PIN settings, notification preferences and marketing communication preferences.

Usage data: Anonymous analytics about how you interact with the App to help us improve the experience.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and maintain the App's core functionality; send renewal reminders and notifications you have opted into; calculate financial projections and summaries; sync your data across devices; improve and develop new features; send marketing communications (only with your consent); and respond to support requests.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

Contract: Processing necessary to provide you with the App's services when you create an account.

Consent: Where you have given explicit consent, such as for marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Legitimate interests: For improving our services, preventing fraud, and ensuring security, where these interests do not override your rights.

5. Data Storage, Security & International Transfers

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase cloud infrastructure, with servers located in the United States and European Union. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication and access controls.

If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US where Google Firebase operates. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

Your PIN and Face ID/biometric settings are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:

Service providers: Google Firebase for cloud storage, authentication and analytics; Apple and Google for push notification delivery.

Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation or legal process in any applicable jurisdiction.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

All users: Access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; delete your data and account; export your data in a portable format (CSV); and withdraw consent for marketing communications.

UK & EU residents (UK GDPR / EU GDPR): All of the above, plus the right to object to processing, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk).

California residents (CCPA): The right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

Other jurisdictions: We respect the data protection rights afforded to you by the laws of your country of residence.

You can exercise most of these rights directly within the App via Settings, or by contacting us at support@renewa.app.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data including products, profile information, saved calculations and preferences is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Anonymous aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

The App uses local device storage (AsyncStorage) to save your preferences, cached data and provide offline access. This data stays on your device and is synchronised with our cloud servers when you are connected to the internet.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
